‘Gloriously immersive’ The Guardian

The Book of Kells experience opened in January 2024 as part of a major redevelopment of the Old library site at Trinity College Dublin. Beam were commissioned by Event to provide lighting design to the temporary structure, located at the heart of the University campus. Whilst the original Book of Kells and the Old Library are renovated and refurbished, the College wanted to keep an attraction open which would attract visitors to the site, and help finance the project as a whole. The new structure features a walk-through exhibition with a finale showing off the Long room as part of the Library. Beam specified, lighting fixtures, track and a control system to coordinate with a huge range of projectors and AV installs as part of the show.
