GreenFord quay Block 1

Designed by the architects responsible for the iconic Hoover Building, Wallis, Gilbert and Partners, Greenford Block 1 is a listed 1930’s heritage building. After many years disused, Greenford Block 1 now forms the central feature of an enormous new development, Greenford Quay, due to be completed in 2025.

Beam were commissioned by developers to create a temporary lighting installation across the entire second floor of the structure, bringing the building to life and announcing the Greenford Quay development to the community.

Lighting every window across the building from the inside, Beam designers used warm vibrant colours to create an inviting and exciting scheme as well as highlighting the building’s architectural style.

Inventive design solutions were found to overcome the challenges of working in a historical building with very little existing infrastructure and environmental factors were carefully considered.

Beam worked with our technical teams to design a stand alone control system to run the pixle-mapped display. The system runs on Entec LED Mapper with a custom show timed to the hour.
